ABOUT THE COMMITTEE
During the 2015 Regular Legislative Session, Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 19 (SCR 19) was passed directing the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board to create the Physical Therapy Patient Access Review Committee. The purpose of the Committee, as stated in SCR 19, is "to investigate the potential benefits of removing the current restrictions tied to patient access to a physical therapist’s services by allowing direct patient access to a physical therapist’s services without restrictions."
The Physical Therapy Patient Access Review Committee is scheduled to meet five times between August and December 2015. The committee will develop a report of its findings and recommendations to be submitted to the Louisiana Legislature by January 15, 2016. The authority of the committee will terminate upon submission of its report.
